My daughter got her first racist abuse at school today.

She's five.

So I thought now might be a good time to reiterate to any white people that see this.

"I don't see colour" is bullshit.
Denying institutional racism is bullshit.
Denying white privilege is utter bullshit.

I recently fell out with an old friend over his refusal to accept the existence of white privilege.

Whatever other challenges the white kids in her class might face, that's never going to happen to them.

And it's just the first of many extra obstacles she'll face in life.

I don't expect everyone to suddenly become an activist, but if you don't even have the decency to acknowledge the world as it actually is then, on behalf of my daughter, fuck you.

Also, maybe don't raise your five-year-old sons to hate black people.
