@siracusa I heard your concerns that lawsuits weren’t a great way to regulate company behaviour on @atpfm and I wondered if you had seen this article: https://ianbetteridge.com/2024/03/22/a-few-thoughts-on-the-apple-doj-antitrust-case-from-someone-who-isnt-riding-his-first-rodeo/
It suggests that a conviction and the threat of a bigger future sanction like break-up makes companies self-regulate.
So perhaps Apple will go further for the US because of a vague fear, than they will for the EU where they maliciously comply with the letter of an explicit regulation.
